John had come home from the night shift at Jeannette Glass Co. He was washing up in a small bath off of the bedroom. Grandma heard a strange sound and went in and found him slumped over the sink. He had had a massive heart attack. He died almost instantly.John worked as a Glass Worker most of his life. At one time he was a Police Officer on the Jeannette Police Force. I have one picture of him in uniform and one of a group photo of the Police Force standing on the steps of City Hall in Jeannette.

Grandma Lyda told me that she had a stillbirth between my father and the birth of his sister Mildred. She knew for several weeks that the baby was not living, but had to carry the baby to term, and go into labor naturally. The baby was a boy. He wasn't named and I think that was a shame, but I understand why that was.

I have a copy of the death record for Mary (Marie) from Christ Episcopal Church in Greensburg, PA . She was only 28 yrs. old at her death. The church also sent a copy of a baptism for Frederic FRATER born 24 Dec. 1894. I haven't found anymore information on this child.

Thomas was the younger brother of my grandfather John FRATER. Thomas worked in the Jeannette Glass Factory. Glass Works seems to be the trade that the FRATER family followed. Thomas died from Influenza.

Not convinced about this family branch info. There is a George that married an Elizabeth Ann Dixon in 1857. That George & this George are roughly the same age yet only one George is found in the BMD. Could 1 be older than the claim or was one not registered? Is Elizabeth Ann the daughter of this other George?

Aunt Jo was Uncle John's first wife. After their divorce, I remember going to Aunt Jo's house on a Sunday for home made speghetti. I would watch her roll out the dough and then cut it in long strips. Her sauce was the best!! My cousin Madeline and I would jump rope or play jacks sometimes while we waited for dinner to be ready.
