This may have come from family stories or family documents that he had. Edward C would certainly have been able to get stories from his Grandfather William (James's son) as he lived until 1938. William may have talked about James (his father)'s family in Scotland. This is certainly feasible.

Received a letter from Conrad Frater with copy of tree produced by his father Edward C Frater. This shows him married on 20 July 1845 in ST. Paul's Middlesex. He is shown as being a compositor.
Believed to have found a link in Knightsbridge. Contacted Mike WELCH to discuss possible link. Both his Welch and Titchiner families were in the printing business as was James FRATER. The locale and dates match and so there is a possibility. Mike suggests that there is a possibility that Sarah Ann is the daughter of John Welch. KF has contacted St Paul's, Wilton Place to see where the Parish Records are kept to check the records. Am awaiting a reply.
