This page is for the Parish Church of Saint John the Baptist in Ystradydowg (Rhondda valley). The Church on the site in 2002 is the fifth Church to be built there and is about 15 years old.
Many headstones were removed during the rebuilding of the Church because they had weathered so badly and could not be read. Most of those remaining in the small churchyard are positioned around the edges of the peaceful garden.
I found the Church to be beautifully kept and had a serene atmosphere.
I hope to get to see some of the records in the future to see what references to the Galloway’s are there.
